For those living in apartments in the Golden Triangle District, 2020 presents new challenges in celebrating this year’s holidays. But there is still plenty that Denver residents can do to get into the holiday spirit. Here is a guide to get you started.

Visit Christmas Lights from the Car

Denver has no shortage of beautiful Christmas lights displays. Of particular note is the City and County Building at Civic Center Park which when lit from top to bottom, continues a tradition of over 80 years. Throughout Denver, there is a wide range of great options, from the Zoo to the Botanic Gardens. But many of these require strolling around.

For those who want to play it completely safe and stay in their car, The Denver Post offers a way to map out your own route. Homeowners submit pictures of their decorated houses and then you can select the ones you’d like to visit. Some neighborhoods definitely worth checking out include Arvada, Windsor Gardens and Aurora.

Also, the classic Parade of Lights which has transformed this year into a multi-day socially distant event will be happening for several weeks beginning Friday November 27th. Floats are placed throughout downtown Denver, spanning from Denver Pavilions to the Denver Union Station. If you can’t make the actual Parade, you can view rebroadcasts these days: Friday 12-4, Saturday 12-12, Saturday 12-19, and Thursday 12-24.

Take in a Show (Also from the Car)

Drive-ins might seem retro, but they’re making a comeback for 2020. For those of us who live in the Golden Triangle District, the 88 Drive-in Theatre is the oldest continually running drive-in movie theater in Denver. It has three screens. This year there are three great Christmas movies to choose from, including Elf, The Polar Express and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.

If you still haven’t gotten your fill of lights, there is a drive-through Christmas light show in Denver called Christmas in Color. With millions of LED lights perfectly synchronized to holiday music you’ll leave brimming with Holiday spirit.

Get Baking

There’s no safer place to spend the holidays then right at home. Baking these Holiday Crinkle Cookies is the perfect way to celebrate. They are easy to make and as delicious as a cup of hot cocoa.

It’s so much easier to spend the holiday at home when you live in a place like the TriVista on Speer. With high end interior design, a 2-story fitness center and a stunning rooftop with vista views, there is no place in the Golden Triangle District better to call home. If you’re searching apartments then take a full 360 degree tour of TriVista on Speer right from your computer.
